Notice what this smart young man did, however, in the midst of the hurry to get before Pharaoh – his new potential client.
“Then Pharaoh sent and called for Joseph, and they HURRIEDLY brought him out of the dungeon; and when he had SHAVED himself and CHANGED his clothes, he came to Pharaoh.” (Gen 41:14)
1.) He shaved. Why? Because Egyptians don't like facial hair.
2.) He changed his clothes. He wanted to look right in every way.
You live in the era of the PERSONAL BRAND. It's always been this way but the number of ways people can encounter us in a digital age has multiplied the multiple points where people get first impressions.
THE EXPERIENCE ECONOMY
Beyond that there is the problem of backing up that initial impression by consistently delivering the brand experience.
This bears repeating. “Brand” is no longer just an idea or a promise; it is an experience. The brand is the customer experience. Consider Starbucks, Apple and Google. Each company sells a product, but that product is more than an i-Pad or a cup of $4 coffee or a computer screen- it is an interactive experience.
Here is where the “blessing” of God comes in. If you have enough WISDOM to get the initial impression thing down, the FAVOR of God will come upon the transaction and work out what the others are experiencing.
It's a mystery…but that is how God's “blessing” often shows up.
