HOW TO NEVER EVER ‘MISS IT' IN GUIDANCE.
It is possible to never make a mistake in guidance. Your spirit man hits the bulls eye 100% of the time. So often after we err we say ” something was telling me not to do that.” That “something” was your spirit.
Most people miss the fact that being “led by the Spirit” means being led by your recreated human spirit. Your spirit is made up of three parts: conscience, intuition and communion.
This is one of the most mind blowing teaching ins the Bible, namely the triune nature of man. Spirit, soul and body.
With our spirit we contact the realm of God.
With our soul (mind, will an emotions) we contact the realm of men.
With our five physical senses we contact the realm of earth.
Being led by the Spirit happens in our spirit – the part of us that is born again and made a dwelling place for the Spirit of God. “The Spirit himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God” (Romans 8:16)
This is what the Bible means when it says “you are the temple of the Holy Ghost” and “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”
What we miss is the fact that CONSCIENCE is the voice of the Spirit in our spirit. This is why the Bible warns about those who violate conscience ending up shipwrecked in their faith. The secret is to have a Biblically educated conscience. Insufficient truth leads to lawlessness. Too much truth without corresponding grace leads to legalism. BUT- (and most people miss this) Proverbs tells us that INTEGRITY will be our guide! This is another way of saying – conscience.

Much needed at this time, thanks!
This is a good – true word! Thank you!
Yes, it is so!
The Holy Spirit want to lead us and teach us at the same time, within time and be led by the supernatural at the same time
Many illustrations of the triune nature of man are out there in Web Land, but one Craig Hill taught from several years ago was very helpful to me. In that teaching he drew up three rooms, side by side. in the left room was Body, in the middle room was Soul, and in the right room was Spirit. There are walls separating each of the rooms, but there are also doors in the two interior walls – and only one door can be open at any given time. Either the door is open between our soul and our spirit man or the other door is open between our body and our soul. Dr. Hill’s teaching was that as we are inclined to hold open one or the other door, our soul is lead to be more of the Spirit or of the Body (implying that operating out of the flesh was not helpful to our soul). Just a model, but one to ponder from time to time.
Great visual of the 3 doors. Thx for sharing it.
That’s a good one, Mark.
I agree we are spirit, soul and body. I just learned it 6 yrs ago while we lived in Clovis, NM. But for some reason my door from soul to spirit seems to be locked and I can not find the jey, no matter how much I read, pray or listen to good preachers and teachers online. One big question I have is why can’t I hear and know God’s will on which church to call home? My husband seems content at the last and current church. But I want to jeep looking. Until I know in my heart and mind that the Holy Spirit says “Here is your home where I will help you grow with this family.”
Very good. I have had times when I didn’t move because I questioned my inner spirit. God is so good to show us the truth when we seek for it!!
I definitely agree. Thanks for sharing a powerful word with such brevity!
I so enjoy all of your messages and I can’t wait until you come to NEW YORK!!!! When are you coming?
God bless you Lance. These points are fundamental!
Thank you and thanking God for you !!!
Shalom and Agape always,
Hear instruction, and be wise, and refuse it not. Prov. 8:33
Lance, I appreciate this teaching and it sure rings true! Your last statements are the keys that open the understanding about this for me:
“The secret is to have a Biblically educated conscience. Insufficient truth leads to lawlessness. Too much truth without corresponding grace leads to legalism. BUT- (and most people miss this) Proverbs tells us that INTEGRITY will be our guide! This is another way of saying – conscience.”
Hebrews 10:22 conveys the underlying need to be biblically educated, mature in our thinking & reasoning “let us draw near with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled clean from an evil conscience”. An evil or guilty conscience will hinder us from being led by the spirit and we know that “whatever is not from faith is sin” (missing the mark). This then means we do need to be as Paul told Timothy “workmen handling accurately the word of truth” and the more we work out the “salvation of our souls with fear & trembling” the better off we will be! Initial salvation may be free but this further salvation has a cost & that is the cost of discipleship!
Kurt, most people don’t realize that its the spirit that get saved and the soul has its own”salvation” and it is called sanctification, discipleship, the renewing of the mind. You seem to see it. If there is one thing I have learned, in all the places it talks about saving the soul, it is talking to the believers. The saving of the soul is different than the spirit, it is a process. Spirit is a done deal, sealed, saved and reborn. Our stubborn soul is ongoing with discipleship. Nice to find someone else he see it that way. It took me years to see it. We are called soul winners…We should be called spirit winners first then we win the soul with discipleship.
