Where Is Your Hope?

Where is your hope?

Is it in circumstances? Or in your dreams or visions for the future?

Whether your situation appears bleak or shines with the bright light of eager expectation, our hope must be in Him who calls us His own.

Zechariah 9:12 refers to us as “prisoners of hope.”

What does this mean? It means that your situation is going to have a triumphant ending. God is the only One worthy of our hope. Even on His worst day, Jesus had a different focus. He told the thief, “This day you shall be with me in paradise.” (Luke 23:43)

According to Paul, hope “is a helmet” which means that hope is meant to cover your thought life. (1 Thessalonians 5:8)  It is a confident expectation of good coming out of the situation. As human beings, hope is essential for us to keep going even in the midst of hardship.

God turns everything into that which serves “the counsel of His will.” (Ephesians 1:11) Therefore “in everything give thanks” because you are not a prisoner of circumstance, but of hope! We live in a world with challenges and heartbreak, but also of beauty and joy. Yet we cannot place our hope in any of these things, even the good gifts from our Father.

Remember to put your hope solely on the Lord today!
