You have access to the mind of Christ! Think about that. Your limited understanding can expand to the point where God mingles His thoughts with yours. The gifts of revelation, prophecy, discerning of spirits, and words of knowledge are all accessible to you!
BUT…
Jesus told the disciples, “I have many things to say to you, but you can’t bear them now.” Can’t bear it now? Think about this: What would Jesus love to tell you that He can’t tell you because you simply can’t handle the conversation?
Jesus went on to explain how He would get them ready for more and deeper understanding. To paraphrase, in John 16 He said, “The Holy Spirit is not only going to reveal to you everything that I am saying, He will reveal your future and things to come. He will teach you from the inside out. He is the Spirit of truth.”
The key is this—your mind interacting intentionally with God’s Spirit of truth!
Here are three keys for fostering a vibrant and refreshing daily relationship with the Holy Spirit:
- Renew your mind to walk in all truth: The Lord intends for us to have a day by day walk with the supernatural mind of Christ, and this is made possible through the Holy Spirit. Remember, “Man does not live by bread alone but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God” (Deuteronomy 8:3). Don’t just feed on one or two familiar themes, explore the whole Bible—every word! I want to be able to walk in ALL truth. Derek Prince once said, “Your relationship with the Word of God reveals your relationship with God.” Sad to say, most of us view Bible study as boring school work. Truth is, the Word of God is a living, breathing book that feeds your revelation capacity. Hebrews 4:12 describes the Word as “living and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the division of soul and spirit, and of joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart.” Your soul feeds on whatever stimulates your mind and emotions. Your body feeds on physical food. Your spirit feeds on communion with God and His Word. What are you feeding your spirit?
- Stand firm on the Word: Jesus said, “My words are spirit and they are life” (John 6:63). They contain the thought structures of how God thinks. Remember in the movie The Matrix, when Neo gets a download into his memory and is instantly transformed into a Kung Fu master? Well, when you plug yourself into the Word of God you literally, intravenously, tap into the mind of God Himself. By the Holy Spirit, the Lord renews your thought structures, breathing life into the intricate membranes of the way that you think. He starts to infuse His truth into you—in the same way the tree feeds the branches that bear fruit. Suddenly your soul and your body and your circumstances start to fall under the authority of the very Word of God.
- Tap into God’s heart by committing Scripture to memory: Memorizing Scripture is like taking a cosmic antioxidant into your brain—it eats up all the corrosion and junk that you didn’t even realize had been accumulated over a lifetime of exposure to demonic, carnal, and soulish thought structures. As the Word of God takes root in your heart, it sets off like a time capsule. Wisdom and truth spring up again in the moment you need it in ways and in layers that are beyond imagination.
As a final note of encouragement, ponder this: Jesus defeated the devil after 40 days of fasting by quoting just one book of the Bible. Three times He quoted Deuteronomy in response to satan. Imagine knowing by heart the exact Scripture you need to defeat the most powerful temptations and attacks of the devil. It really IS possible to have the Word memorized, internalized, and ready to fire back at the moment of temptation.
Get started today. What Scripture are you going to memorize first?
As One,
Lance Wallnau

Thank you Lance! This is the Word of the Lord for me today! Cora
This teaching comes at a very critical juncture in my life. I appreciate your words. Words of life. Thank you, Lance for all you do for the body of Christ. You need to listen to you, brother! Praise God he’s poured a lot into you and you are good at pouring it into us. Blessings, my friend.
Beautiful Lance. It is so true to memorize the word of God.
Keep up the good work and may God bless you.
Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against Thee. Psalm 119:11
This is just what I needed today ❤️
Where is the best place to start in the Bible to memorize scripture??? The hardest part for me when reading the scripture is understanding what is being said and then trying to comprehend it. The most important thing for me is knowing the will of God especially when praying or believing for he as healing
Psalms is the easiest. You can read through the psalms every month… no pressure to memorize, just familiarize yourself.
On the 1st of the month,
Read 1, 31, 61, 91, 121
each day same – adding 30+30etc
Today, September 20 I read:
20, 50, 80, 110, 140
I’ve used this method for years. Some days the Lord speaks in one verse. Other times I am caught up in all the psalms.
Thank you for your words of encouragement. I do have the mind of Christ, his thought and intentions. I just have to keep my mind on Jesus, the word of God and read and study the Bible more. I’m 76, I can do all things through Christ who gives me strength!!
I enjoyed this message today. It is good food for my spirit!
Thanks for the motivation!
Memorizing Ps 2 today…
the Lord just laughs. 🙂
Romans 12:12 Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, and faithful in prayer. I am saying this everyday and believing it.
