ESTHERS BITTER AND SWEET ANOINTING!
Esther was first anointed with Myhrr – a bitter herb, for 6 months. Then she was anointed for 6 months with perfume. After that she was promoted to royalty.
Ever notice how the pruning sheers come before the greater fruitfulness? The anointing of bitter hers precedes the sweet but both work together to make the promotion happen.
I was thinking today about the final chapter in the Bible where the Rev 22:17 “The Spirit and the bride say, ‘Come.' …The Bible says “the bride has made herself ready.” No doubt the story of Esther applies here. Salvation is free, but there is a price to pay for the anointing. I am of the opinion that there are some 30, some 60 and some 100 fold even in heaven. There are “rewards” in eternity. This company, the bride, is a special group.
No doubt the bitter oil and the perfumed oil are part of the beautifying experience.
