Why did Jesus preach the famous vampire sermon in John 6 about drinking His blood and eating His flesh? Because the crowd was getting too big. He only wanted the real people to follow. So every now and then, a good teacher or prophet stops saying what edifies the audience. They stop saying what people want to hear and tell them what they need to hear. Yes, it does hurt to prune the garden, but soon enough, the vine is healthier. My friend Mario Murillo is a courageous model of this practice. I share his concern for the prophets.
