Do you really have the power to create the life you want?
Take a look around. Is there anyone doing what you love? The very fact that someone else is living the life you want proves it is possible for someone to get there….why not you? Perhaps you do not have their particular gifts and talents. If you love the craft, just like a movie, there are dozens of roles involved with that production. Where you are gifted by God, you are invited by God to advance. Just keep saying “Yes” to opportunity.
There is a place for you. Get clear on what you do well and build a muscle around it. Kingdom principles like perseverance and being teachable really do work.
Here is something I read from a casting director I grew up with: “Be generous. Give freely and help others advance. Your network of friends will help you get work.”
What if somehow you discovered that the life you really want is in fact the life that God has called you into? It amazes me how often people weep when hearing a prophetic word that speaks to a future they secretly longed for. But does it not make sense that your gifts fit a calling and when you do your calling you are 100% ALIVE?
I am so thankful and amazed when I consider how far I have personally come and the opportunities the Lord has placed in my path. This is my area of expertise. My life mission is all about people answering the calling that is on their life. My prayer for you is that you will know how to hear God and work with the opportunity that's “near” and the opportunity that's “dear” while you eradicate “fear.”
What if you thought you knew your calling….but it turns out that at 66 you are not needed or wanted in that area.
Younger people now fill that position…and since you never were excellent in the techniques of singing and playing piano….only used by God and anointed at the time I was being used….when my last church faded into nothing I was left with no purpose.
I haven’t been able to even find a church in 4 years that teaches their people the whole Word of God or that I fit in with or even want to attend,….let alone get involved with.
So much more to this story but I don’t know if God will use you to speak into my life about this or not. So I will wait and see.
I am 66. I have no dreams from God. I have no bigger dreams than a pretty garden where I can have women to bible study and/or just talk and pray.
Maybe a kitchen thst functions and a walk in shower and laundry on the first floor.
No big amazing dreams about service to the Lord.
How much do you want to know about me or my husband. The Word indicates and I have been taught we all have a reason for being here and we all are to win the lost.
I use Facebook to post things thst minister to people.
I pray for people that ask me to. I pray over firetruck, policemen and ambulances that rush by me. I witness to my son and my doctors.
But….I have no church or Pastor. I watch online church where I used to go even though I really have no desire to return there.
Life has kinda become just one day after the other. I get up work in my garden, every other week I get chemo abd believe God for my healing
Thank You Lord because you heal me and wake me up each morning. I am grateful.

Nancy, I am about ten years younger than you, but I can so relate to your post. I think that many women struggle with finding their place in this world after retirement and children are grown. I spent so many years investing in my children, family, and friends only to find that most have all moved away. When no one needs you anymore do you still have a mission? Am I too old to find a new career? Would that be foolish? I want to work for the Lord, and follow my true calling, but what is that now? I think of Charles Capps. He said if you are struggling with what to do, read a red letter edition of Bible, “Read the red, and do what it said” Do you believe in daily confessions? And praying/speaking the Word of God over your body? If we are able to connect, I would love to chat with you more. God Bless you and continue to heal your body completely. Father, I pray for complete healing for my sister Nancy. Thank you for healing her body, mind and spirit. Refresh her with a fresh anointing of the Holy Spirit. Let it flow over her in a Wave of healing, and restoration and Peace. Holy Father take what the enemy meant to kill/destroy her and use this healing to bring Glory to your Name, as she shares the story of how you healed and restored her. Nancy, I feel that sharing your story IS your ministry. Ask God how best to tell it. By music, by one-on-one? In a large group? He will speak to you through the Word. Speak it out loud as you read.
