Keep Looking Down

Keep your chin up!

How often have you been told this?

But did you know that if you’re seated in heavenly places you can keep looking down?

A few days ago the Lord told me there was an open door in heaven and many of us were going up. Praying from the finished work is better than climbing to perfection. Praying from the revealed will of God is superior to striving to make something happen.

Years ago I read a tract about the “Throne Room Perspective.” We need to see our challenges from the perspective of being in heaven rather than stuck on earth. Earth’s systems are corrupted and controlled by iniquitous patterns, people, and compromised principles. Heaven has an entirely different system. Let's bring that system down to earth.

I am learning to go through this open door. I want to hear God more clearly…be more accurate…be less affected by earthly things.

Let me tell you about a time this perspective changed everything for me:

After a conference, I flew from Morningstar in Fort Mill, South Carolina, to Vancouver, Canada. I waited five hours, then flew fourteen hours to Manila. When I arrived I could not find my luggage! This had happened before. I was tempted to “fret” but checked into my spirit and just felt a velvet peace. Thankfully, my luggage was returned to me! But what I didn't know was that this episode was visible to the people watching me at the terminal who came to pick me up. They said I just seemed to be singing along joyfully and unbothered…and I was.

Keep looking down.

As One,

  1. Yes, good perspective Lance, and one I need to be reminded of! I think it’s sadly lacking in many Christians’ theology, when the emphasis seems to be on “righteous” performance.
I’ve been trying to suppress the urge to write you a LONG letter on the 10+ year struggle I endured, acting from a heavenly perspective, but which had disastrous earthly consequences! Should I? / Shouldn’t I? Did I “hear” right? Where did I go wrong? Maybe I didn’t get it wrong, but others judged me VERY WRONG!!! There are many stories of people of faith in the Bible who had no idea why God told them to do something that didn’t make earthly sense! They are encouraging examples of how obeying the voice of God brought success and victory, when all earthly attempts failed!

  2. Thanks Lance.. of course ! I see what you’re saying. That’s our advantage , seated with Christ in heavenly places. .. FAR ABOVE ALL Powers and principalities. Like the Eagle soaring Hallelujah! [As One]

  7. I just finished listening to Steve Swanson’s song, ““come on up.” Your blog prompted me to the song. If you haven’t listened to it in awhile, I’d suggest you do so. The music will add a lilt to your voice and bring a jig to your dancesteps. I’m claiming Zephaniah 3:17 for you and Annabelle as I write this for I believe you both bring Him great delight.
