“Chickens” have to have “laying mash” in order to produce eggs. Then, they have a laying cycle and then rest a little and more laying mash…..I Am Really “TICKED” about the cost of eggs!!! I LOVE to make egg omlets (spelling?) and I am sure lots of people do also….

What made AMERICA Great was—and still is the “Mom and Pop” farmers…Not hundreds of acres of land….Just a little land—and the willin gness and the love for their families, so they got up way before “daylight” and milked the cows, they kept their livestock well taken care of so that they would be healthy—and their chickens too…..
They protected their land….they tilled their soil/planted—and prayed for a good crop and provisions for their family….At Harvest Time—in the “good years”—they were able to do a “little more” than just survive! The kids got a bicycle for Christmas—and did not have to wear “hand-me-down” clothes!
The sad reality is: Many are selling out to Big Corporations who could care less about whether people are fed or not—–THEY ARE JUST LAND GREEDY!
The “cards” are stacked against the little farmer—those who really love the land and farming, and they are being forced off of their land by a myiad of circumstances….
AMERICANS—Don’t forget who feeds you! It is not the grocery stores—They are the “middle man.”
Just “destressing” a little LANCE and MERCEDES….”Hangin’ in there”—and PRESSING ON!
Regarding the chicken feed info. I’d like to see some evidence gathered using the scientific method rather than anecdotal info. I’ve raised chickens for at least 30 years. Hens stop laying eggs every fall when the days get shorter. They resume laying a few months later when the days lengthen. Egg laying is stimulated by daylight hours. Commercial flocks have light-regulated environments to keep them laying. My current chickens are laying because they are a high-laying breed.
The info about Purina may or may not be true but before you report on such things, a little due diligence might make your info more credible.
I very much enjoy watching your show and usually find it stimulating and informative. I think Mercedes comment that her dogs aren’t laying put this info in propber perspective!
