Do you know the link between dreams and reality?
When was the last time you let yourself dream—I mean really dream—about what you want your life to look like?
Most of us can dream about tomorrow. Our problem is we don’t know how to get fully unstuck from the routines and demands of the present. The cycle of life overtakes us. We feel the tension of our dreams in conflict with practicalities (bills to pay, kids need attention, our partners to consider, and the list goes on…).
How do we respond? We edit our dream. We shrink back, and as we become smaller and we play smaller. Instead of taking bold and audacious steps in the direction of God’s calling, we hesitate.
We wonder if maybe it’s not the “right time” to move forward. Invariably we bury our dreams AND STAY STUCK. I’ve done it myself. That’s why I am adamant about making sure YOU don’t get stuck.
I sometimes think that we make our spiritual lives too mechanical. It isn’t about pleading, negotiating, praying, and fasting.
It’s about being clear in your own heart about what dream you want to manifest. Habakkuk 2:2 reminds us, “Write the vision; make it plain on tablets, so he may run who reads it.” Did you catch those 3 steps?
Write the vision down. Make it clear. Run with it.
Step #1: Write The Vision Down
Don’t let “reality” or “false wisdom” rob you of your dreams. There is nothing too out of the box, nothing you can’t afford, nothing too unrealistic, nothing too silly—when you dream. When it comes to vision, if it doesn’t make you a little nervous, it’s not God.
Step #2: Make It Clear
Dream for anything and everything. Be specific. If you dream of a new bike, what color is it? If you dream of the perfect family vacation, where are you going? Skiing or to the beach? If you dream of the perfect companion, is it a dog or a spouse? The point is, you need to stretch yourself to see as much detail as possible! When you do this, you create a sensory radar that picks up on cues and connections that correspond to your destiny.
Step #3: Run With It
Once you have your dream book, begin to meditate on it. Bring it with you to the coffee shop, to work, bring it to the gym to read while you are on the elliptical…and ADD to it. Your vision is a living thing. As you feed it, the vision materializes. Then, begin to ASK God to bring these dreams into reality. Pick one or two that you can begin working on today. Watch how God will surprise you time and time again with the very thing that was in your heart.
BONUS Step #4: Dream With Others
Once you get clear on your own dreams, begin to get clear on the dreams of others. There is nothing more powerful than unlocking the dreams of your spouse, children, or staff. Have them follow steps 1,2,3 and then have them share those dreams. If you really want to transform a life, see what dreams you can make a reality in their life.
Your calling is God’s plan for your life. It’s the heavenly version of the thing you call a “dream.” There is nothing more important in your life for all time and eternity than fully answering the call of God.
What is the most recent dream you’ve had that is calling out to you to take action this week?

My dream ~ becoming vision
To leave N. California and move to Southern Maine.
Thank you,

Hi Lance, long story short, I always wanted a manufacturing company that made sweet potato pies. I asked for a vendor where I used to work but was told I couldn’t meet the demands of 100 million pies for the store I worked at. I got fired after I was in a car accident under doctor’s care. I was also sexually harassed in the store but had no help! Now I don’t have a job.
Hi Lance,
Thank you for this article, definitely come at the right time. I have been having a recurring dream for a long time now. I’m sat on the edge of the Jordan, screaming “I’m Stuck!!”. The Lord is sitting at the side of me, just watching.. Then the last dream of this He stood up..
I’ve been trying to move back to Montreal for several years now. I use to live there and my passion and heart are there, but it has been a battle. I was supposed to go this fall to learn French as a student, but because I don’t want to take the jab, I have to have the fake PCR test and quarentine, for being healthy.. And pay for it. So, apart from all the packing, student visa etc, this on top and expense.. I just can’t seem to shift.. Feel like there is something more blocking me.. Any help advise is welcomed!!!

Mt dream is to have a large rv to travel and write, preach and enjoy with family. I want my family , kids and grandkids in and serving the Lord. I want to be all God has written about me in His book. I want my health and every prophetic word to manifest and to see them before its time to go home. I want to leave a legacy
