If You Want to Raise the Dead……

Raise The DeadIf you want to raise the dead, you need to put some people out of the room.

When Jesus was called upon to raise a young girl from the dead, the environment was not conducive to what He wanted.

(Mark 5:40-42) 40 But they laughed at him. After he put them all out, he took the child’s father and mother and the disciples who were with him, and went in where the child was. 41 He took her by the hand and said to her, “Talitha koum!” (which means “Little girl, I say to you, get up!”). 42 Immediately the girl stood up and began to walk around (she was twelve years old). At this they were completely astonished.

Once the right people were with Him, He raised Jairus’ daughter back to life.

Sometimes Jesus raised the dead in public, but in this situation He took control of the pessimistic atmosphere by making sure the right people were with Him.

This lesson was not lost on Peter. When he was summoned to pray for a beloved women, Tabitha, who had died….“Peter sent them ALL OUT of the room; then he got down on his knees and prayed. Turning toward the dead woman, he said, “Tabitha, get up.” She opened her eyes, and seeing Peter she sat up.” (Acts 9:40)

For those who operate in this realm faith and unbelief are conditions that effect the atmosphere surrounding a miracle. Some ministries pick up on whoever is around them. Connecting with the force of faith in a given situation may requires you to adjust the proximity of people around you. You need to be with the right people and sometimes the right person is NOBODY, just you and God.

If this applies to the raising of the dead it probably applies to any area of life where you need to reverse the situation in a supernatural act of faith. Could be a wayward loved one, marriage or business. You are not being mean or lacking faith – you are being smart. When Peter was near execution in prison there was a prayer gathering in a house – most likely Johns dwelling. As they prayed in one accord their faith touched something and Peter broke out. All the church was praying but one group of close knit members was the key to the miraculous jail break.

The point? Know that faith can be strengthened by the right people in the room. The bigger the issue the more selective you need to be about who is with you. Create a climate conducive to faith. And likewise, create a climate conducive to breakthrough with a child, spouse, negotiation, business, healing or miracle.

And if need be, put some people out of the room, out of the house, out of the office- and do business with God.

  1. This is really good. I recall one time when I was one of the ones that should have been put out of the room – my lack of faith and that of others kept a young man from being healed. One of my priorities is being one that Jesus calls into the room with Him.

  2. This is an excellent word, Lance. We were convicted a few years ago that we needed to disassociate with some friends of ours because every word out of their mouths was devoid of faith. Once we started making new friends that could agree with us in our faith, things really started happening in the spiritual.

  3. Thats really good stuff Mr. Lance. Years ago I was called upon to pray for a woman in the hospital who was near death, to receive Jesus. I was young in the Lord and asked God to clear the room before we prayed. He was faithful and a room full of people disappeared. She asked Jesus for forgiveness and was ushered into the kingdom days later.

  4. Excellent word, Lance. I instantly thought of someone who needed to read this word. I will be sending it to them. As a pastor, it is very important to be aware of those who want to spend time with us.

  5. Lance thanks a lot for your teaching in a hearbeat. During the time I listen to it I was seeing billboards saying change in a hearbeat 1.2.3 for career college. I found you in sid roth’s archives.

  7. This was absolutely awesome!!. Jesus said, I (the one who walks in right standing with God) say to you-Get up. This has blessed. Thank you.

  8. When in prayer for others, my husband I learned the hard way that we needed to only have mature Christians with faith and expectation for the supernatural. Because you get what you expect.

  9. In a heartbeat is one of the best investments you could ever make. It totally transformed my thinking and life. It will be one of the best investments you have ever made.

  10. Was it not a sacred moment? And a special teaching moment for Peter James and john.not all can or will appreciate sacred things
