You’re Anointed, Now Get Appointed!

Do you look around at the chaos in the world and wonder, “Lord, what can I do?” Do you ever question what part you play in this spiritual battle that’s raging all around us? You’re not alone. But I’ve got a word for you today.

In David’s day, the devil manifested through the Philistines, a mocking, intimidating enemy that paralyzed God’s people. Every day for forty days, Goliath, this demonized bully, taunted Israel’s army. And the one man who should have been leading the charge, King Saul, couldn’t move. He had the title but not the anointing. The Spirit of the Lord had departed from him, and he knew it.

But God had another man, a young worshipper, a shepherd, a psalmist, who did carry the anointing. David had the grace and the revelation to solve the problem, but he didn’t yet have the position to release it. That’s where many believers are right now: anointed but not yet appointed.

David didn’t slay Goliath as a shepherd boy or as a king; he did it as a newly enlisted soldier! Once Saul authorized David to step into the sphere of government service, everything shifted. Goliath wasn’t just a military problem; he was a political embarrassment. David stepped into the government mountain, the sphere of national authority, and that was the place of victory.

David’s earlier entry point into that sphere was through music. His worship opened a door to the palace, and proximity became power. Because the power to access becomes the power to influence. Once Saul handed David his armor, David was no longer a bystander criticizing the problem; he was an insider anointed to solve it.

Something shifted in the heavens when Saul received David. The moment Saul said “Go,” Goliath was already a dead man walking because he was about to meet God in a David suit.

This same principle shows up with Esther, Joseph, and Daniel. Each of them was a subordinate serving under leaders of a different faith, yet each carried divine favor because their rulers received them. Jesus said, “He who receives you, receives Me.” When you’re invited into a sphere a business, a boardroom, a classroom, a government space, Jesus steps in with you!

We’ve got to rethink how the Kingdom of God advances in our time. It’s not just in revival tents or worship gatherings, though we love those. It’s in the places where culture is shaped: business, education, media, and government. David knew the presence of God from the hillside, but he changed a nation when he brought that presence onto the battlefield.

This is the hour for God’s people to merge the heart of a worshiper with the resolve of a warrior. The Bride is emerging from the wilderness, but she’s “terrible as an army with banners.” Loving intimacy with God and strategic advance against the enemy are not opposites; they’re the double helix of Kingdom power.

Put the Supernatural to Work

Make this your daily confession: “The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, and I am anointed to fix this situation!”

You’re not waiting for revival; you are the revival God is unleashing into broken systems and corrupt corridors of influence. You cleanse leprous minds, raise dead institutions, and cast out devils in the marketplace, the media, and the mountain you’ve been assigned to. Every place the sole of your foot treads upon is territory you’re claiming.

There’s a Goliath mocking the armies of the living God in this generation, and it’s time for the Davids to rise. You’ve fought your lion. You’ve faced your bear. Now it’s time to pick up your slingshot.

Because the same Spirit that anointed David to topple giants is resting on you right now.

Up, David! Draw near and listen.
The sound of the giant’s taunt is your signal to move.

This is your moment.
Step forward in faith and watch God show up through you.
