Do you know how powerful your spoken prayers are?
Ezekiel reveals a technique of the prophetic we often miss. He is told to simply put out his words in the wind. “Speak a prophetic message to the winds, son of man. Speak a prophetic message and say, ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Come, O breath, from the four winds!’” (Ezekiel 37:9)
Imagine that the winds are ministering spirits sent forth to the heirs of salvation. Imagine that these winds are spirits sent to accomplish the words spoken. Imagine that these winds are coming from the breath of God and seeking to join His words from your mouth. God's words from your mouth enter the atmosphere and mingle with the wind to be sped off on their ordained mighty purpose.
How do you do this? Write a crafted prayer. This is a Spirit-led document that outlines your need and petition in a specific area. Add God's promise and rehearse His sufficiency. Commit what you shall do and what God's Word promises He will do.
This is an agreement—a crafted, thought-out prayer and declaration. Take it out to where you can speak it to the wind. Send your words on an assignment…and don't be surprised if the wind starts moving around you, even indoors!
Prophesy to the wind. This is biblical. Write a crafted prayer and deliver it. Watch your awareness of the wind and angels multiply afterward.
Have you done this exercise before? What movement did you perceive in the Spirit?

Thank you so much I didn’t know about it. I definitely will do it.
Thank you for all the insights you have sent me. No I have not heard of this before but will be doing what you have said.
No, I have not done this with this particular understanding. I will now, Thank you, Lance.
may the Lord send his horses to redeem his beloved !
We had two storms a couple days apart! I prayed and spoke to the high winds and commanded the Angel armies of the Lord of Host to protect my trees and home!!! I have four large trees that surround my home. That night I heard Revelation 7: 1-8, my take on this was there’s another storm coming and the HS is giving verses to speak! It came, worse than the first! The more I spoke, the fiercer the wind, the louder I got! I looked at the wind, darkness at 4:00pm, as it raged! Then almost as quick it died down and with it my prayers! Praise God! One branch, came down! To His Glory!!
You have touched on a very creative approach to the mystery of the winds of God. I have shared this message with family and friends. I will be following your lead and have great expectations for a glorious encounter with the living God.
Thank you
I have not done this but I will. Thank you Lance for all your good teaching.
For two years now I have gone down to the river that flows through our town and loudly proclaimed the Our Father over the river and the town! At one time I got the understanding from the Lord that my prayer/ words were carried by the waves down the Chippewa river into the big Mississippi, and into the Delta on into the oceans.
I still do this, and I also do it over our town, God wants to redeem the stolen lands that are His and the People!
Beautiful, Eva. Yes, water has memory (scientifically proven). God bless you as you continue to speak life over your city and every place the river goes!
I do something similar, Eva-Maria. I live in a southeastern city nicknamed River City. And whenever I go over one of our many bridges, I pray in the spirit the whole time and when I get to the high point of the bridge, I declare OVER the waters portions of Psalms 29, with the windows in my car wide open so the sound goes forth in all directions, just as you do in your region:
Psalm 29:3,4
The voice of the Lord is over the waters; the God of glory thunders, the Lord, over many waters. The voice of the Lord is powerful; the voice of the Lord is full of majesty. (LOUDLY!)
Lol! Praise God!
Dear: Lance your right on right on. My GrandFather helped raise me and He was a farmer all His Life and raised 12 children. And I watched Him most of my life.He would pray over the ground the ( dirt) ,He would pray over the animals and pray over His sons that fought in war war 2 and prayed over me. So yes I have come to do the same thing from His example. It makes perfect sense to pray to the wind. Selah
Good word! Thank you. The wind and the waves obey Him!
What an inspired post Lance. Everything good that we have is an inspiration from God and I thank you for sharing with us. Now I will both use God’s inspiration and share it on.
