The Elijah Spirit And Why We Need To Focus On Families

You can go in any direction in the Bible, and you can focus on what’s happening right now, as a lot of believers are, but I’m going to tell you where it’s going that we forget it’s going. Most of you will know Malachi 4:
“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.”
We believe that one of the end times’ characteristics is going to be the Lord releasing the spirit of Elijah. There will be a prophetic anointing dealing with Jezebel, witchcraft, and Ahab passivity in government. God is after the family because he’s talking about fathers, and implied in that is families. Families are the focus that closes out the Old Testament, guys, if you screw that up and keep messing that up, you’re going to end up with a curse. That’s what’s happening in America right now. Our families are so falling apart. There are families all around us, no matter where you look. In many of these families, there are no dads, just lots of single moms, and that’s the demographic that Furnishing Families help, the outreach of Lance Wallnau Ministries that my wife, Annabelle runs.
Annabelle explains how a household disaster got her started as she called the Center for Transforming Lives to see if they wanted some furniture, and she heard about a little boy who had never slept in a bed in his life. He’d slept on an air mattress, in a car, on a couch, and the floor, but never in a real bed. She helped that family and that boy and wait until you hear how it turned out for him!
The right way to help families like these isn’t the government; it’s philanthropy and people. Americans are very generous, and they want to help, but the government wants to take over everything. A lot of the time, they fail at it completely, and the simple reason is that God hasn’t called them to do it.
Here’s the thing, we didn’t need a manual to start helping these families get furniture, it was in Annabelle’s heart to do, and God keeps providing. The next step is to begin life skill classes for these families. Even if you think you can’t do anything, you can just look around for people that might need your help!

  1. I am a member of Seven Mountains and the monthly fee is taken out of my credit card automatically. My bank has changed all of their credit cards and has given me a new number. I need to send you my new number. Where can I safely send the new number, please. Thanks, Pat McLean

  2. Annabelle’s comment about kids needing shoes reminded me of James Robison @ Life Today had a program at Christmastime regarding kids shoes they could purchase at a really low price – looked like crocs, but the toes were covered. He’s in Fort Worth Texas, maybe they could give you info.
