Do you believe that you have what it takes to win, overcome, and succeed in life? Do you know that God has already placed within you the unique abilities necessary to fulfill your call and rise above the obstacles you encounter?
Warfare is inside your mind, more than in your circumstance. Don’t believe the lies the devil throws at you.
I was thinking today about the “Connection Economy,” a term coined by Seth Godin. The Connection Economy describes how the online community can provide a powerful platform for sharing ideas and bringing like-minded people together. We have seen this concept blossom in recent years through social media sites and applications.
There are five lies in particular that come to mind when considering the Connection Economy and how this relates to stepping out and making connections with others, both personally and professionally.
The FIRST LIE is that you’re going to need far more talent than you were born with, that you don’t have enough and need something more, some special trust, impartation or guru to give you the missing piece.
Everything you need is in you, now. You may need to develop these gifts, talents and abilities depending on the challenge, but you are already equipped for the task.
The SECOND LIE is connected to the first. Don’t believe that the people who are leading in the Connection Economy got there because they have something you don’t, know something you don’t or have advantages you don’t have. Even if these individuals do have “more” knowledge or resources, don’t be distracted by their story.
The THIRD LIE is that you have to be chosen in order to stand out. You, as a believer, are more chosen than a multitude of those who are hostile to the faith. The difference is that the devil resists you more vigorously than those who have no kingdom agenda.
The FOURTH LIE is that those we see out there making a difference aren’t afraid.
How are we afraid?
We are afraid to lead, to make a ruckus, to be controversial and misunderstood. Yet believers and unbelievers all bear the malice of hell and fight through a gauntlet of fear and negativity in order to do something positive. Joshua 1:9 reminds us to turn to the Lord when we are afraid: “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” We must be vulnerable and risk being seen for who we are.
The “Connection Economy” isn’t based on funding, or buildings or high-up connections. It’s built on those who convey a message others resonate with. It is an economy built on the currency of your ability to inspire trust and hope and passion in others.
The FIFTH LIE is that you need to wait. The timing isn’t right.
The TRUTH is this—the future belongs to those that care deeply, feel strongly, and believe fully in something bigger than themselves.

BTW Lance, i was in Salem, OR this past weekend and went up for prayer when you prayed on stage with Sean Feucht. I was praying for back pain and I started shaking when you prayed and my back has not had ONE twinge since that time (2 1/2 days). I don’t know if you remember me but I was up in front right next to the stage and I was wearing turquoise.

Thank you Lance for those encouraging words and showing me the lies of the enemy yes I am an over comer through Christ Jesus and of the word of my Testimony and by the blood of Lamb of God. I know God has equip me with whatever I need to do what I’m called to do but I am waiting on the Lord and right now just resting in him. But I’m praying and interceding and declaring and decreeing with heaven and I stand by God I would ask you for prayer for my family for my loved ones that are lost and that need a savior Jesus’! What you said it is correct but do I have those attributes I don’t know, that is the question. I have look at myself and search what God want me to do and it come out blank.
Do you have any book so I can read and debate on the solution. Right now I think I am at a cross road. I really need help

I’m ready. I know God has a reason and purpose for me to finish. Thought for a long time it was to get my husband on board with the things I am believing but he isn’t there yet. He has his own destiny and is about ready to enter into it. I am to lift him up and encourage him to go gettem. Thanks for your ministry of information.
We live in Montgomery county, Maryland, which is Avery liberal area. We have a 12 yr old son in middle school. I was a Para-Educator in an elementary school for 5 yrs. I am very concerned about the critical race theory that is being taught and sex education brain washing that is happening. We are a Christian family and I feel a need to fight the school but don’t know how to go about doing it.

Hi Eric! What do you want to do? God gives us the desires of our hearts… after He places them in there. He’s all about the process of discovery as we spend time in His Presence without an agenda. You pretty much have a “green light” until He turns it red.
I rest in this Scripture:
Philippians 2:13 NIV
“for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”
This takes the pressure off me as I rest in Him. Also Ephesians 2:10!

Yes, I learned that years ago, after suffering deep depression for most of my life! I call them “the lies in my head”! I had to learn to lean on what God said about me, not what others have expressed about me my whole life! Reading God’s Word is the best way, I found to feed my true self! God knows who I am better than any man! Parents need to be very careful what they say to their children in this regard. How many parents I’ve heard calling their children words with negative connotations. The use of swear words is even worse. No wonder young people struggle in life, turning to drugs and other mind-altering substances, trying to shut out the black (barking) dog! Self image is so very powerful! It’s the devil who degrades people: God loves us into beautiful, strong, talented people, made in His image!
I felt like your email was made for me. I do struggle with all the lies you mentioned especially thinking that what i say doesn’t matter, my gifts don’t matter but as i read it and saw the comments especially the ones who were honest and vulnerable about their struggles and fears. I got a picture in my mind that God is building a masterpiece of everyone who belongs to him and each piece of the quilt is special to make the whole masterpiece beautiful. We belong to each other and i love the concept of connection with others to share their stories and experiences with each other. This helped me to not think I’m alone and we all matter to each other. God is making a masterpiece of your lives, we can’t do it all, er take a piece of others story and it enriches us. Thank you Dr. Lance, Annabelle, Carl, Mercedes and all your fantastic Team!
