GIVE but don't allow yourself to be used.
Love but don't allow your heart to be abused.
There is a verse that speaks about your enemy seeking to
“wear down the saints of the Highest One” (Daniel 7:25).
The devil will exhaust you if you let him.
The nicer you are the easier it is to be vulnerable.
Jesus did not hesitate to get away from the pull of others when He had to. The devil wears down saints by sending them people who drain their strength and give nothing back to replenish.
When people say WWJD – “what would Jesus do” – they typically substitute “what would my idea of infinite love, generosity, kindness, and humility do in this situation?”
WWJD could not imagine Jesus rebuking a dinner host or refusing to reply to a person talking to Him. You could not imagine overturning tables or not going to a sick friend's comfort when asked by his two sisters who are dear to you, and showing up a few days late and raising the dead…or walking away from an enthusiastic crowd to be all alone on a mountain.
Don't let false guilt manipulate you. Take care of yourself. Don't let the enemy devour your strength or virtue with people and projects God did not send.
Make sense?

It makes perfect sense in perfect time.
WOW o wow o wow
And Jesus further said, “Don’t throw your pearls before swine.”
Right — because they will rend you, they will assume you are a swine, and after you get tired enough you might even smell like one
But you can’t just stay away from all swine.
You can’t call people to better behavior any more — because normally there is no shared value system
So we are called upon to be infinitely giving and infinitely sunny — or else shamed and denigrated — until we become like them.
Back to the Book. What would Jesus really do? What is Holy Spirit doing now?
Thanks Lance, ever stimulating.
It’s never been explained to me this way, nor has it ever seemed so clear. Thank you. This was a blessing!
