Putin agreed to a promise made during negotiations over Crimea that Ukraine would not be allowed to join hands with the EU via Nato, over concerns of having Nato nations sitting on his doorstep.
The devestating nuclear facility meltdown at Chernobyl, Ukraine occurred in 1986 and a massive protective coffer was installed in later years over the failed reactor. The entire area is still highly radiactive; yet, multiple stories are being circulated stating the Russian army has taken the facility and is affecting electric output.
