According to USA TODAY, Yemen rebels seized U.S. Embassy vehicles in the capital on Wednesday as diplomats fled the country.
More than 25 vehicles were taken by Houthi rebels after Americans departed the city's airport.
In addition to the United States, Britain and France announced the closure of their embassies in Yemen after the country was taken over by militants.
Yemen is the Arab world's poorest country, and it has been in crisis for months as fighters led by IRAN-linked al-Houthi last week dissolved parliament and took control.
My heart aches for their 840,000 acutely malnourished children, while about 13 million have no access to safe water and sanitation. How I long for the kingdom of heaven on earth.
What would Paul say to us?
“First of all, then, I urge that entreaties and prayers, petitions and thanksgivings, be made on behalf of all men, for kings and all who are in authority, so that we may lead a tranquil and quiet life in all godliness and dignity.” (1 Tim 2:2)
1. Notice the FIRST priority. It's the MOST important: prayer. Those who are in authority must be prayed for.
2. We do so that WE may have the peace. Peace is needed for the gospel to advance. Chaos is not the optimum environment.
Don’t you think the body of Christ would benefit from a unified prayer strategy for Russia, Iran, North Korea, and Yemen????
What sources do you go to for Global prayer strategies? I mean specific prayers for specific nations?
I sense we need to RIGHT NOW PRAY for:
1. A divine supernatural PROTECTION for Americans and all Christians in Yemen
2. CONTINUED global shift in the Muslim world against violence and destruction and positively toward leaders who can bring “a tranquil and quiet life.”
3. Strong and INFLUENTIAL voices to arise in Yemen that demand stability and peace.
4. Food and RELIEF for those children.
