Don't die from a thousand cuts of “busy.”
What do I mean by that? Read on!
The devil knows your weakness and if given the opportunity will set you up to fail. That's why the verse “make no provision for the flesh” is so important. If you have a problem with chocolate, don't take a job at the Hershey Factory. Some sins you overcome by getting the heck away from them. (Sorry to say, this occasionally involves people.) That's being too busy to discern temptation. Reckless.
Rick Renner says: “THINK ABOUT IT AGAIN… Regardless of your spiritual background, the devil knows exactly which buttons to push in your emotions to keep you all bound up and depressed. He even knows how to disguise his voice to make you think God is talking to you. He wants to get you off track so you will dispel your deepest dreams, casting them off as pure imagination.”
That's being too busy to nurture the dream God gave you. Tragic. I am always struck by the candor and transparency of an old time revivalist who wrote, “Many times I felt embarrassed and perplexed with regard to my own weakness and want of stability in the presence of temptation.” How beautiful. Any current leaders in the Church making this statement? The man who penned these words was Charles Finney, arguably one of the top five most dangerous soul winners and culture shapers in American History.
What did Finney do to regain his power? He got away from the world and its demands and “recalibrated” his soul and spirit to the Holy Spirit.
That's being smart and slowing down out of “busy” and getting re-grounded in the Spirit.
Here is a key. Jesus said, “My words are spirit and they are life.” (John 6:63) Don't make the mistake of feeding your body three meals a day, hunting for fresh organic this and that, while forcing your spirit man to subsist on dry crackers and motivational quotes from your favorite preacher. Your spirit man—the inner man—has to be fed daily. “Give us this day our daily bread” has to be referring to food and REVELATION because Jesus said, ”Man shall not live by bread alone but by every word that PROCEEDS from the mouth of God.” (Matthew 4:4) Bread is food. His Word feeds your spirit.
There is DAILY revelation food sent from God to you to feed your spirit. It may be dramatic or it may be subtle.
Looking back over some blown opportunities, the Lord spoke the following to me and it shook me up:
“There are words that have been spoken by God that were fresh PROCEEDING words right out of His mouth into your situation—but you were too busy or preoccupied to hear them. You walked into situations where you didn't have the advantage of His counsel and made less than optimal choices. Fix that. Bring your plans before the Lord and He will cause your thoughts to align with His.”
Go back to the PRESENCE! To hear the proceeding words “from His mouth” you have to seek His FACE! Don't just seek an insight or wisdom; seek the face of God. When you find His face you will hear His mouth speak. That's how you go to access the “proceeding word”—read the Bible in a place of raptured communion. Discover what heaven has for you today and WATCH what happens!

awesome lance —I was an have been so frustrated this is excellent an helpful , i couldn’t help myself but if one more ministry takes advantage of the kingdom at every holiday trying to capitalize on some teaching that isn’t even knew just same thing said another way — if these teachers truly cared “STOP” marketing Jesus every holiday , why would 2 cds cost $50.00 or plus ? You know how effective the Christian radio is ? Very effective their cds maybe 5.00 give or take – I never get a breathing moment without some ministry an their latest cds , I’m really sick of it , an if you voice any opinion then your the one with the problem an ministry’s start placating —- I’m exhausted from countless ministry’s selling selling selling for Gods sakes it’s Xmas time ‘tis the season to give because God so loved he gave ! It really hit home that i have been “subsist(ing) on dry crackers and motivational quotes,” more than i have on seeking God’s face & His wisdom found in His Word, the Bible! It sounds good but what does that actually look like.
How will I KNOW when I’ve found it?
In this world where increasingly those in control are bent on following evil, it is vitally important for us to stay close with the Lord. I’m more aware of this because of an out-of-control incident that happened in my state of Queensland last week. Two innocent young police officers were gunned down by 3 “conspiracy theorists” defending themselves against what they, I believe, thought was a threat against them! When I look at all those innocent looking faces, I can only blame the devil and his Globalist followers for this tragedy! Jesus warned us of great deception, particularly in the last days! We are here, and there is mounting fear, lies, and threats all around us! If we don’t stay close with the Lord, then how can we discern the right path to navigate these upside-down dangers of this time.
I have a friend who has been absolutely terrorized by the fear of getting covid, and angry with whoever she deems a health risk to her, yet as I tried to warn her about the vaccines, the mandates etc. she is even more fearful, and now confused as to what to believe!
It horrifies me that most people are sitting ducks to whatever their rulers dictate to them, believing that the government has to speak the truth and will only do what’s in their best interest. Those who don’t trust the governing bodies (for good reason), are still prone to deception and fear, which causes many otherwise good people to do crazy things in self-defense! We believers need to take back the 7 mountains of cultural influence, especially in governing positions to bring back sanity and safety in this corrupt, crazy, world where right is “wrong”, and wrong is “right”!

The devil doesn’t care what you believe, as long as it is not the truth. So he presents menus of wrong choices everywhere. In turn, one must put forth effort to live with a proper world view, or paradigm. And so it is that most folks are so busy that they don’t have time to read, research, meditate, and pray in order to be on the right track, instead of groping through the fog that the devil generates. So this article about being too busy should be taken very seriously. The world is full of distractions. We should be attracted to the truth and the most important big picture presented in the Word.
This is exactly what I needed to read today! Earlier this morning, He spoke the words of an old hymn to me:
“Turn your eyes upon Jesus
Look full in His wonderful face.
And the things of earth
will grow strangely dim
In the light of His glory and grace.”
