I am soaking in your teaching, and as usual in my following you, it’s perfect for where the Lord is taking me. I have written a Bible Basic course and have practiced it this month with a small midweek church group composed of new and old followers of Christ, single and young marrieds and a couple of older saints, some who have never developed quiet time nor read through their Bibles. The response has been very good. Our textbook is their own Bible and we started off by finding Psalms, Genesis, and Revelation, and reading out loud the first and last verses or short passages . One young woman thanked me after class and said she didn’t know that’s what Psalms was. Another kept looking in the Table of Contents until I explained Revelation is the last book, just before the maps. Then I took them on a flipping tour through the Old Testament with a few stops here and there.it took a couple classes. Tonight we will flip through all the books of the New. I passed out index cards and for homework they were to bring back a verse to share that spoke to them. One young sheriff deputy had his life verse tattooed on his arm, Joshua 1:9, so exempted himself from homework! My purpose is for each of them to realize God will speak to them Himself and His Word is most important so they won’t fall prey to deception.
I will start a new class in September on Sunday mornings and we will start over but soon move to Hebrews 5:12-6:3 and then discuss maturity as described in 5:14. At thanksgiving we will focus on patriotic, and at Christmas the first coming of Christ and have a party!
Lance, I’ve written to you a few times before but have never received a reply. You tell us to reply so I do. I contribute to your ministry monthly but am a widow so cannot give much and I did listen to this teaching all the way through. I’ve tried to get your attention about the Display of the National Motto in public schools. My website is UsnationalMotto.com and since public media got wind of In God We Trust posters going up, there’s been an explosion of response. Sadly the ministries like yours and Wallbuilders haven’t mentioned it. I have heard that Gene Baileys wife is somewhat involved.
