Listen For The Call That Excites Your Spirit

As we head into another year, how are you doing? Do you feel pulled in a million directions, stressed, and overwhelmed? Or are you able to rest, reflecting on the months past and preparing your heart for the New Year? I believe there is a valuable purpose for your life, and that even now, in the midst of the possible lingering chaos of the holidays, there is a call that excites your spirit.

Surrounded by the pull of the “urgent” we often miss the “important.” As you anticipate and gear up to return to work and responsibilities, watch for what stirs the deepest part of you. During your holiday gatherings, there were clues. There are clues in the topics you prefer to discuss around the dining table, the activities that bring you delight, or the pain in the world that evokes empathy within you. Once you find what stirs your spirit, you’ve likely found a universal need that will stir others also. Find a way to adapt this “thing” to meet the needs others feel. If you can figure out how to connect this stirring to others, you have found the secret to wealth and significance.

May you be inspired and renewed this week with creativity and kingdom ideas as you recognize the gifts the Lord has already placed within you.

Let’s enter this year with joy!

The “Call” that excites me: It’s the song: IF I CAN HELP SOMEBODY ALONG LIFE’S WAY, THEN MY LIVING SHALL NOT BE IN VAIL.

After Daddy got out of service and we came home to Georgia, I grew up in a white house built in 1900. The kitchen sink was a Big white enamel sink that had a side section with grooves that you placed your dishes on to drain. It was a Great Sink.

When Mama washed dishes, she Always sang that song…..She worked at the hospital and was a Registered Lab Technician and a Surgical Nurse. So thinking back right now, I think she most probably was thinking about the sick and the hurting in the hospital. She LOVED helping people. It was her ministry. Mama was Anointed to sing that song. Now all of these years later, I sing it a lot myself….Thinking about her—-and those I can help—even if it is only in a tiny way….I realize EVERY KINDNESS IS SO NEEDED AND DEEPLY APPRECIATED.

    1. That is so very special and beautiful, a cup of cold water in His name, the Balm of
Gilead! What a beautiful gift from your mama! Bless you
