Your Design is Perfect for Your Purpose

Your design is perfect for your purposeYour design is perfect for your purpose. Potential is determined by the design of something. The bird can potentially fly, the fish can potentially swim and you? Your potential is intricately woven into your design and your design is crafted according to your — PURPOSE. You come packaged with all the gifts, talents, aptitudes and abilities necessary to engage your life purpose.

As a believer, you have something extra. Remember the verse.. “I can do all things thru Christ who strengthens me?”
( Phil 4:13) Paul was speaking about the peculiar demands and hardships he engaged in his calling. He could have said, “I can do all things (my purpose) through Christ (the anointing) that strengthens me!” You are designed to flow with a certain anointing or divine enabling that comes from heaven.

Romans 11:36 says “of Him (design) and to Him (purpose) and through Him (anointing) are all things.”

Because God provides for His purposes, but not your plans, the tight places of our life often involve the mistakes we made. We've all done it. A wrong turn, delay, bad choice. But God factors in grace for this also. He told Abraham to leave his home town – alone, but Abraham left with Lot and his entire family and entourage. Eventually the herdsman of Lot and the herdsman of Abraham were in strife and it caused problems for Abraham. Strife comes with the stuff we added that God didn't give us. Look at Ishmael. BUT, this is our founding Father or faith who still succeeded and was called the friend of God!

The beauty of God's ways is that He makes ALL things work together for good of who? “….them that love God, to them who are the called ACCORDING TO HIS PURPOSE.” (Rom 8:28) There is no blanket promise in the Bible that all things work together for everyone….but there is a promise of everything working out for those who are seeking to please God and are conscientious about fulfilling His purpose.

STAY AT IT – You were designed to succeed. You will “finish the work,” the purpose, of your life, and hear “well done.” Yours is a life of destiny by design. A design that is perfect and anointed for your special purpose.

  1. Dear Lance,
God is being rather pesky this morning about insisting that I share with you what I had shared with the Greek Orthodox Church on Wednesday (also the day you posted this blog, “Your Design Is Perfect for Your Purpose.”) Being technologically challenged, I am not sure how to do this sharing God wants of me in a graceful way. However in obedience to God’s wishes and with protocols to the wind, here is my Author’s Bio, which I used as a tool for self-introduction with them and the Catholics again on Tuesday. Maybe this Bio will help with the bridge-building. My Reflection for this coming Sunday will explain its significance and how this outreach fits into the bigger picture, but for now, God just asked me to share it with you. … ~k

    Author’s Bio
I’ve always journaled and soared with the albatross […uh…cough…o…Eagles!] of being published some day. What writer hasn’t? Whether I fed my illusion or delusion, I still came to the conclusion I had to feed my body. I kept coming back to my temporal needs. It was always a fight between spiritual longing, independence, and hitting the fence of corporeal restrictions. Mortality. And so the story goes on…
I got fired on my birthday, 8 May 2007, from my social worker job working with the developmentally disabled. When I asked why I was being fired on my birthday my boss said, “Consider it a new birth.” I took a nosedive into my own personal forgiveness journey. There was much to forgive. This was now my second formal career. I had walked away from being a fourth grade elementary school teacher for nine years, when I realized I couldn’t live up to my mother’s dream. After I had “woken up,” I went back to school and got my master’s degree in Counseling and Guidance. Then I wasn’t able to get the job I had originally preconceived, but God had led me to this one with the developmentally disabled. Now I was losing this one. There was so much to forgive.
On Epiphany Sunday, 6 January 2008, I got “The Call” from God. Golly, what does one say to The Burning Bush? He wouldn’t even give me His business card. I mean, really, how far can one get with, “Tell them I AM has sent me to you” (Ex 3:14)? Then on 14 May 2008 I experienced a mystical marriage, or Total Commitment in Christ (similar to what St Paul experienced on the Road to Damascus.) This mystical marriage went far beyond my “born again” experience in July 1980. In my born again experience, I had invited God to live in me. In my mystical marriage, I stepped out of the way to allow God to do the leading. I accepted His proposal to lead my life in every detail, the same as a bride takes her husband’s hand in marriage. My life with Christ became a partnership. It was a commitment of complete trust and utter devotion. Christ had said it would be difficult, but I loved Him so much I agreed to follow Him anywhere. He has been faithful and our love continues to grow and deepen each day. My calling mission is the reconciliation of the Churches. My calling comes with two directives from God: “Worship Him” and “Share the journey.” As I wrestled with the meaning of this, I realized that these directives not only continue to give me direction, but they also give direction to the Church. Overlapped on top of this, these directives describe my “I am” – who I am in my core being. Worship is a part of every person’s anchoring process. And in the anchoring process I anchor in my relationship with Christ. I listen to God and share the journey as He shares with me.
This “being” orientation within the soul doesn’t align itself well with achievements and accolades. From an outsider’s perspective looking in, he or she would not see published evidence of any writing experience, kudos, résumé, portfolio, and perfected ability to schmooze. Instead I liken myself to the character, Kitty Soft Paws, in the 2011 Dreamworks’ version of “Puss In Boots.” In this parallel precarious Odyssey, the Church-as-Institution “declawed” me, so I, too, had to learn to dance with the alley cats. The books of Reflections which I have written reflect this dance.

  2. Great article, thanks Lance! Was just listening to you from Marketplace Transformation from 2006 at Bethel, got the mp3s.
I would like to see something written on starting your passion/business/expert career with nothing (literally)! How do I start as a nobody to somebody that people will listen to? I know I have a lot to offer, I’m 28 (29 in oct.) but I want to be a life coach. Please write on something that can take me from being a charter school teacher (I am one) to coach 🙂
    God bless.
    -Michael M.

  3. Totally awesome … yes !
This is the same prophetic word I received 10 years ago, that ” His plans and purposes are perfect for me… “, and He has just brought me right back around to it, and I turn on the computer, read your e-mail… and here it is again !…. Awesome… thanks Lance !.. The Ruach Ha’ Kodesh is speaking !

  4. Thank you – not only was this encouraging but it had something very solid to hold on to and rely on — God’s intentionality!

  5. Dear Friend In Jesus,
I have translated the New Testament from Greek to English in a unique way never done before. Can you help me to get it published?
    Thank you!Your Brother in Jesus,
    Pastor Richard Lang

  6. This is helpful, but I would love it as a “affirmation” or encouragement (or something along those lines), which is recorded that I could play in the morning before I head out to work.

  7. Lance, I enjoy your blog posts about the design of God. It’s something I think about all the time. Do you remember the dialogues you used to do with Mark Chironna and others? I wish you could do something like that over this website. It would be so cool if you did a “What Are You Learning In God?” post. You could get some of these names you keep dropping to add short comments about what they’re learning, and then add some little things you’re learning that aren’t big enough for a full post, and then moderate in any good comments from us unwashed. You know you want to!
