Who Would You Rather Follow?

Who would you rather follow?
A leader who says:

1.) “Follow me, I know exactly where I am going and how I am going to get there.”

2.) “Follow me, I don’t know where I am going, but I am certain I am being led and open to what is emerging.”

Follow Me

Almost any modern business book or study of leadership will tell you to follow the first person, but what if they are confidently going in the wrong direction?

The other person is still open to learning. Having less ego invested in “being right” they are more open to discovering the way forward.

In dealing with problems that are not being solved in your city and nation: economic, racial, domestic, educational, DON'T follow the people who want to continue current failed practices and don't look for deliverance to arise from insiders. Expect God to raise up an outsider…a David to come into the sphere and deal with the giant. Expect an ageing childless entrepreneur like Abraham to be visited and led by God to form a nation and go to a place he does not know how to get to.

If you are walking in the steps of your father Abraham you MUST experience seasons when you know what you are looking for but don’t have a clue how to get there.

“By faith, Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going.”
(Hebrews 11:8)

CONGRATULATIONS! You start with a calling and a vision and go forth into the chaos of choices trusting the sovereign God, who calls, will lead you.

These are the people who will change their cities and shake up their communities. Their number one critic will be the old order leader who has thus far been king of the hill. They know exactly what to do…..and precisely because of that hubris, they are not open to what God is going to do next.

Welcome Saul and David in seven spheres of colliding kingdoms – 7 mission fields to disciple nations, the “7M world” of:
Church
Family and Social services
Education
City Government
Media outlets
Artistic expression and
Economic development.

It is all unfolding now…

Feel free to like and share this and follow me – precisely because I don’t know where I am going.

  1. Yes, I’m in the same place now. I know pieces, but the exact road map seems to be missing … or said another way, the road map before me is found in spending time with Holy Spirit, in His presence, and trusting that He will tell me what I need to know in the moment I need to know it. In order for me to hear it, I need to be as close to Him as possible.

  2. Excellent introduction – I like people like Abraham who follow for the adventure, knowing
    God is in control.
